I teach ukulele to all ages. I also teach guitar and cello to children and tweens, and beginning piano to young children with a special method that helps little ones learn how to read music. Music theory is incorporated into each lesson. Theory can also be taken as a stand-alone lesson, independent of, or in conjuction with, learning an instrument.
I believe in song-based learning, and think that all you need to learn and grow can be found through playing what you enjoy.
I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Music, emphasis in cello. I have taught music in Colorado for twenty years including teaching in three music schools. The technical skills and musical logic I developed as a cellist shape the way I teach all other instruments.
Fostering a life-long love of music is my goal and injury prevention is very important to me as it is critical to achieving a lifetime of playing unencumbered by pain.
